Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March on the 26th of March, 1991. She's an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. Her first EP, Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released by Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn fame. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox has been uploading her music since 2012 with her release of her first mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. She continued to upload her tracks online through 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes, on Sweat It Out on the 21st of July in 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville team at the time and wanted her to perform on Rihanna and Rihanna-related songs. On the 8th of December, it was announced that she was officially signed by Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track she recorded together with Cozz on her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. On October 21, 2016, her debut EP was released under the name Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She also appeared in the music videos Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus along with Bas and her labelmates. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream on Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. A music video followed followed by a video in September. Then on November 9, she released two additional singles: forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. On the 13th of November, two brand new singles, titled No One and pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby then made an appearance in the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. The singer released the single to promote her debut titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. In February the video music for this song was released. The song has received over 3 million YouTube views in just one week. As a support act she performed together with 6LACK during December 2018 on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
